Brewers Begin What Looks to be a Busy Offseason 12/31/2013
The Milwaukee Brewers surprised their fans with a pair of major deals to help ring in the new year. The first of 2 deals saw SS Hanley Ramirez head out west to the Angels for often injured OF Matt Kemp and 1B Kendrys Morales. With Jean Segura securely locked in at SS, Hanley was expendable. Kemp, who has been injured the last few years, is one of, if not THE best player in all of fantasy baseball when healthy. Morales will stabilize 1st base for the next few years. The Cuban born slugger brings a lifetime .289 batting average and 30 home run potential to an already powerful lineup.
In a separate deal that same day, Milwaukee sent longtime Brewer SP Yovani Gallardo, RP Koji Uehara, and prospect OF Khris Davis to the Nationals, for SP phenom Stephen Strasburgh. Though Gallardo has been solid in his years in Milwaukee, Strasburgh adds that top notch ace to a rotation that already boasts former Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum and veteran Matt Cain. Stephen Strasburgh will anchor this staff along with Matt Harvey, Jon Niese and Drew Smyly for many years.
When asked at the press conference what these deals did for his team, Owner Jeremy Pari replied "these deals cement our team as a contender this season and for years to come"

Brewers Continue Offseason Aquisitions 1/4/2014
Today the Brewers continued to add to their already deep pitching staff by adding 2nd year pitching prospect Tony Cingrani. Milwaukee sent catcher Jonathan Lucroy to the Reds for the talented left handed Cingrani. Lucroy became expendable with the signing of veteran catcher Miguel Montero. Cingrani will join a rotation that already boasts the recently acquired Stephen Strasburgh, Matt Harvey, Matt Cain, Tim Lincecum and Drew Smyly.

Josh Johnson Added to Rotation 1/20/2014
In a surprise move the Brewers sent young 3rd baseman Matt Dominguez to the Chicago Cubs for often injured starting pitcher Josh Johnson. The Brewers in need of another starting pitcher took a gamble on JJ. The Brewers are hoping that he has a few good years left so that they can make a run at a title over the next few years. When Johnson is healthy and on his game he is still one of the most untouchable pitchers in the majors. But injuries and a trade to the American League derailed his career last season. The Brewers are hoping that a move back to the National League will get Johnson back on track and he can show the league why he is one of the most dominating arms in the game.
